Rakeback is the percentage of rake returned to you, the player. If you are getting 50% rakeback, you will get half of all the money you pay in rake paid back to you (minus bonuses and transaction fees for some poker rooms).
Many online poker players can expect to receive thousands of dollars in rakeback every month. Rakeback deals are of utmost importance to any serious online poker player as the amounts you can receive substantially add to your expected earning rates.
Use our Rakeback Calculator to get an estimate of the amount of rakeback you can expect to receive.
Most online poker rooms use either Contributed or Dealt methods for calculating your rake or MGR (Monthly Gross Revenue).
Contributed method is calculated by the amount you put into each pot. The formula is: ($ amount raked / number of players contributed to the pot = MGR).
Dealt method ensures you get a percentage of the rake for every hand you were dealt, even if you fold preflop without putting any money into the pot. The formula is: ($ amount raked / number of players dealt into hand = MGR).
If you are a very tight player, you'll obviously make a lot more with the Dealt method. A very loose player will make more with the Contributed method. |
